Obedience Trials

The Club encourages members to participate in official Obedience Trials - once you have successfully completed CCC 1, 2 & 3 and been elevated to Novice Trial Class, you are ready to start training and competing in Obedience trials. Dogs must be a minimum of 6 months old to be able to compete in Obedience.

The Gold Coast Dog Obedience Training Club Inc is affiliated with the Canine Control of Queensland, which is governed by the Australian National Kennel Club (ANKC). If you wish to compete in an official ANKC trial you will have to join Dogs Queensland. You will also need to use an official entry form for every trial you wish to enter. Books of entry forms can be purchase from the Clubhouse or downloaded by clicking here, entry form.

Click here to view the rules for Obedience.

Once your dog attains a title and you apply for same with the Dogs Queensland, these letters are added at the end of your dogs name and become part of your dogs official registered name. These qualifications and titles are recognised Australia wide.

You will need patience and perseverance to succeed in all trials - not just Obedience trials. Trialling is a great social event and a great way to meet and make many new wonderful friends as well as have great fun with your dog and building a great relationship.

The dates of trials held by clubs affiliated with Dogs Queensland can be found at the Dogs Queensland web site.
